Besides the usual institutional resources, funds from business-university partnerships will be managed in partnership with the Support Foundation to the University of São Paulo (FUSP), School of Medicine Foundation (FFM) and Zerbini Foundation (FZ).

The usage of the funds complies with the Rules of USP. In addition to existing fundings, advising professors capture funding agencies resources to research and technological innovation, such as the programs Inova and Innovation in Assistive Technology, among others, the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP), National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) (universal notice, productivity grants, technical assistance grants, research fellowships – PIBIC, specific notices of health), the Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination (CAPES) and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) (Research Assistance ‒ Regular, Thematic Project). In addition to the financing of the actual research, technical reserves of some encouragements contribute to the optimization and maintenance of the research infrastructure. Another source fundraising for research projects is the partnership with equipment companies and the pharmaceutical industry. Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Research Center in the Department of Anesthesiology at USP (CEDAR) partially assumes the financing of some research projects.

The professors involved in graduate school are aware of the importance of seeking funding from companies in business-university partnership projects, funding agencies for the execution of excellent scientific-technologic research projects.

In the presentation of candidates to the Program, the future supervisor is asked on the availability of resources and the financial feasibility of the project, the initial learning opportunity for the future student. The mandatory discipline (Methodological Bases of Scientific Research) dedicates partially to discuss the processes involved in raising funds for research.
